My name is Pedro. I’m married, a father of two, 26 years old, and from Brazil.
I currently work at Donorbox as a Ruby on Rails software developer, helping nonprofits increase their impact in the world.
Quick takes on my views about software and web development:
- I fight complexity every day. complexity very, very bad
- Scalability is overrated—there are far more important traits (like security, for example)
- I prefer fullstack solutions over API + SPA applications
- Vanilla everything. Rails, CSS, JavaScript - all vanilla.
- I avoid adding dependencies at all costs
- Software productivity starts long before the first line of code: in feature planning and design
- I value accessibility. More than that, I believe that creating accessible software results in better software because it forces us to think in semantic terms.
- I’m a huge fan of Rich Hickey
